Check out this unpublished ANNE interview
This ANNE interview was conducted by Carlos Ramirez of Spinner.Com, but due to scheduling conflicts it never got posted. Still a cool read tho…check it out!

Give us a quick history on the band and how you got together?
We all knew each other in some capacity before doing the band. Some of us had played together in the past. We are all kinda into the same stuff, so we are just doing it. It’s chill. We had some lineup changes early on. The crew now is tight, though. We got this sick light. It makes us look really awesome. It’s the strongest member. Well, that and the fog machine.
The word “shoegaze” obviously comes up whenever someone hears Anne for the first time. How comfortable are you with the tag?
I don’t really mind us being tagged as shoegaze. I see how we line up with a lot of that scene, but I am not super worried about any of that. We are just trying to do our thing, whatever that sounds like.
You’re releasing your album on A389 Records. How did you hook up with a label known more for heavy hardcore and punk bands than anything else?
I had been bouncing some emails back and forth with Dom (Romeo, owner of A389 Records) for a bit. He was a big fan of our band and was interested in putting something out. It works great for us to be involved with someone who shares the same DIY ethos we do. We try to approach our art with a punk aesthetic. The kind of music he typically releases does not really matter. He is behind our record and sees the value in what we are doing.
Tell us about ‘Virginal Plight’ and its lyrics. What inspired it?
I’m still trying to figure that out. Each part of the song touches on different things for me. I don’t really think my interpretation of the song is that important, though. The title is about Quinn.
How about the video shoot?
The video is kinda silly. We did not plan it out well. It was supposed to be in 3D, but the third dimension didn’t really come out right. It’s still cool. Other people we’ve showed it to seem to like it.
You obviously love early ’90s guitar music, but what album changed your life?
My dad listens to a lot of prog-rock. We have a weird relationship. Does that count?
